Alexander Rodriguez nicknamed A-Rod is a good name to remember when solving a crossword puzzle. Orr has played in National Hockey League for 12 years, 10 years in Boston Bruins and another 2 years in Chicago Blackhawks. 
Orr started playing at an age of 5, he commenced as a forward player but due to his notable skills of the skating, he was encouraged to take the defense and control the play. Orr’s play attracted the NHL scouts in the Ontario province at 12 years. At the age of 14 years, he joined Oshawa generals, the Bruins general affiliate. 

After his hockey career, he became a recognized scout for many professional teams. He also spends time with young skaters to help them develop by guiding and mentoring them. Today he is a player agent and president of Orr Hockey group agency.

3. OTT


Ott also was known as Mel ‘Master Melvin’; he played professionally in major league baseball as a right fielder for the New York Giants. He has contributed his part as a player from 1926 to 1947. 4. SOSA


Samuel kelvin Peralta Sosa hails from Dominican and is a former professional baseball right fielder. Puzzle maker loves to use the name SOSA a lot in a crossword puzzle. The name SOSA has a pattern of consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel, which can be fitted into any grid of the puzzle. 
Samuel has come through the poverty to become a Major league baseball player, he played for 4 teams. 

Sosa, with Mark McGwire, broke the record of the home run in a single season in 1988, later they were awarded as the best sportsmen of the year by Sports Illustrated and Sporting News.
In 2009 it was revealed that Sosa and McGwire were tested positive for the performance-enhancing drugs in 2003 while a regular test was conducted. Tristar Edgar speaker, was an American baseball player considered as the best offensive and defensive player who played in the history of major league baseball. His 792 career doubles exhibit his career record. He had a batting average of .345 (Sixth all time). Defensively, Speaker holds career records for double plays, assists, and unassisted double plays by an outfielder. 

His name makes him an unintentional participant in crossword puzzle. A lot of famous names are present in the sports world. However, baseball players Tris Speaker’s popularity is due to his surname which can be clued as a synonym of ‘orator’ and his first name is simple, short and is made up of simple letters. His name has been featured in The New York Times Crossword more than 130 times. 

Speaker, nicknamed ‘The Grey Eagle’ became the regular starting name for Boston in 1903. Speaker hit .309 in 143 games as the team finished third in the pennant race. His defensive skills were exceptionally good, involving him in 12 double plays and he was leading the league’s outfielder. He contributed a .973 fielding percentage, third among outfielders.  To bolster their squad left fielder Duffy was added to the team.  Speaker, Lewis and Harry Hooper formed Boston’s “Million-dollar outfield.” In fact, it was the deadly and finest trios in baseball history.

One interesting fact was that Speaker taught cowboy humorist Will Rogers, how to make a use of a lariat. (Lariat is a rope used as a lasso or for tethering)
